Description

Shire’s Way is a multi-day, self-supported bikepacking adventure through quintessential English countryside. The route threads its way through six counties - Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire - taking in the Cotswold Lakes and waterways, the world-famous Ridgeway chalk track, the scenic Chiltern Hills, and picturesque market towns including Chipping Norton, Stow-on-the-Wold, and Bourton-on-the-Water, alongside beautiful but lesser-known tracks and trails steeped in history.

The perfect 3 day bikepacking primer…

“Fantastic route with a good mix of gravel, MTB trails, cycleways and quiet roads; clearly well researched and put together.”

Fantastic route with a good mix of gravel, MTB trails, cycleways and quiet roads; clearly well researched and put together. There were ample opportunities to resupply, pubs and formal places to stay and equally plenty of places to wild camp, which I did briefly on the Ridgeway (as I started the event 12 hours late!) This route can be raced or toured and I will be back to do the route again with a group of friends and at a slower pace to take in all the amazing views that I missed while I was riding in the dark!!! Thanks AMA!

Great time in the sun.

“The route was all ridable, plenty of re supply points along the way. The campsite at the end offered hot food and drinks, what more could you need 😄”

“Always great to be apart of another one of AMA events. Approachable, accessible but still challenging. See ya next time.”
